Oatmeal Pancakes Recipe

Breakfast! We have heard and read trillions of times that is “The Most Important Meal Of The Day”… and guess what? IT IS!

Unfortunately our busy schedules and life styles, have made us think about breakfast as an “On The Go” meal, and we have left behind the importance of this meal in terms of quality and nutrients (insert sugary cereals + milk -more sugar- and donuts here).  Every meal is important, don’t get me wrong, but breakfast is by far the most critical of all. Think about it this way, hopefully the last time you ate was more than 8-10  hours ago. It literally means the meal that  “Breaks The Fast”. It breaks the overnight fasting period, replenishes your supply of glucose and provide other essential nutrients to keep your energy levels up throughout the day.

It is crucial to lose fat, to lose weight and to maintain a healthy weight (Breakfast is EVERYTHING!). You can find an article about the importance of breakfast on the “The More You know” tab on the main menu.

This pancakes are pretty simple to make and are delicious for the entire family. The portion on this recipe is for 1 person (YES! it seems like a lot, – In fact, men can double the amount if they are on a maintain face-  but it is just the right amount to start the day the best possible way).

They are the perfect combination of protein and carbohydrates. The egg whites are high quality protein sources, and the oats are a carbohydrate of low glycemic index, that assist in lowering cholesterol, controlling glucose, reducing appetite and aids in weight loss.

Chia seeds are great to control hunger because they retain six times their weight in water. They are super high in calcium (they have more calcium than milk), rich in fiber and Omega 3!
